    Significance of serum SNAP25 Protein levels in Type2 Diabetic patients Abolfathi Aliakbar, Jazar Hassan Department of Biological Sciences, Tabriz Higher Education Institute of Rab- Rashid Blood glucose levels are regulated by pancreatic β cells via exocytosis. During the exocytotic process secretory granules of insulin fuse with plasma membrane. These secretory granules mediated by a number of key molecules including SNAP25 protein component of SNARE protein. To evaluate whether level of SNAP25 protein might be varied in serum of diabetic patients we asked ninety volunteers who were 50 diabetes and 40 healthy to participate in our studies. FBS, HbA1c and SNAP25 protein were measured by colorimetric, immunoturbidometric and ELISA methods respectively. The results showed that the serum level of SNAP25 levels were significantly lower in diabetic patients compared to healthy subjects and had invers and significant association with FBS and HbA1c level. These results are consistent with results of other researchers who studied in isolated pancreatic islets. So it can be concluded that assessment of serum level of SNAP25 is a valuable indicator for Type2 diabetes individuals.
